Thornhill was knighted in 1720, and presented a large altarpiece of 'The Last Supper' to St. Mary's, Weymouth, during 1721. A modello for this painting is at The Yale Center for British Art (B. 1975-7-9), (see Croft-Murray I, p. 273 (43) & Croft-Murray II, p. 324). This study appears to relate to the second and third seated Apostles, to the right of Christ
