The above is the most likely member of the Langham family to have commissioned the settee having inherited the title from his nephew in 1812. Sir James Langham was M.P. for St. Germains and sheriff of Northamptonshire. He married Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Sir Francis Burdett, Bt. of Foremark, and was succeeded by his eldest son in 1833.
