INDENTColonel Arthur James Pearson (1842-1914), entered the Royal Artillery as Lieutenant, 1863; served on the Northwest Frontier and took part in the Hazara campaign of 1868; during the first campaign in Afghanistan 1878-80 he served as Adjutant R.A. on the Staff and subsequently as Brigade Major, R.A. with the Punjab Chief's Contingent; Major 1883; was present at Suakin 1885 and was appointed Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General for Intelligence duties with the Indian Contingent; was present during the actions at Tofrek (Mentioned in Despatches); Lieut. Colonel 1890; Colonel 1895 and retired the following year
