INDENTMajor John Robinson, M.B.E., joined the Scots Guards 1893, and served with them in the South African War, 1900-1901; was attached to the 5th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, as a Regimental Sergeant Major 1907-1916( Medaille Militaire, London Gazette 24.2.1916 -- Col. Serjt. (Acting Serjt. Major)); was gazetted Lieutenant and Quartermaster, 8th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers, 1916, and served in the 125th Infantry Brigade during the Great War including service in the Dardanelles (Mentioned in Despatches; wounded; M.B.E. 1928). The Royal Victorian Medal was awarded for services in connection with the
dissolution of the 3rd. Btn. Scots Guards, July 1906
