INDENTDistrict Officer Sydney Sworn joined the Royal Navy in 1885, and entered the Coast Guard Service as Boatman, 1901; as Leading Boatman, Coast Guard, Penzance, he distinguished himself by saving life from the Swedish barque Trefolium of Gothenburg, 15th March 1914 (Sea Gallantry Medal; R.H.S. Medal); served as Chief Officer, Thorpeness, and District Officer, Wells and Cromer; rendered service at many wrecks, most notable being that of the Dutch oil tanker Georgia, 21st - 22nd November, 1927
