INDENTSurgeon Alexander Garrow, M.D., born in 1876, volunteered for service in South Africa with the Scottish National Red Cross Hospital, 1900. The Hospital's first contingent left Glasgow, 20th April, 1900 and reached Cape Town on May 13th, the day before Lord Roberts' occupation of Kroonstad in the Orange Free State. The Hospital became operational in Kroonstad, June 4th, 1900 and treated 1070 patient's during its six month's service.
