INDENTBand Sergeant Michael Lawrence Bartley, born in Grantham, joined the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, aged 14, at Glasgow, 1883; served during the South African War, 1899-1900 and was present at the Battle of Modder River; discharged at Longmoor, 1904.

Sergeant Major Robert Doig, born in the County of Fife, joined the 92nd Regiment at Stirling, aged 18, 1858; transferred to the 91st Regiment, 1862; Colour Sergeant 1866; Sergeant Major 1876. Sergeant Major Doig died 27th April, 1914 (M. S. M. granted 1913)
