Lot Essay

This work was originally acquired by Julien Green, a member of the Zodiaque group. This informal group was formed in 1932 in order to help Dalí by regular purchases of his work. Each month one of the twelve members selected either a large painting or a small one and two drawings (see Descharnes, p. 142, extract from the Journal of Julien Green).

Sold with a photo-certificate from Robert Descharnes dated Paris, le 14 novembre 1989 stating that the drawing is recorded in his archives under no. D-660/570.
