Processus judiciarius Macaron contra genus humanum. [Augsburg: Günther Zainer, before 5 June, 1473].

Chancery 2° (300 x 200mm). Collation: [1]10 (1/1 blank, 1/2r text). 10 leaves. 35 lines. Type: 2:118G. 4-line initial in red. 19th-century half vellum (somewhat soiled, spine label damaged). Provenance: Eugène Paillet (past president of the Société des Amis des Livres, lengthy bibliographical inscription, signed and dated 8 August 1888); Walter Goldwater (bookplate).

The Processus Iudiciarius is one of 9 devotional tracts printed uniformly by Zainer and sometimes found bound together. The present copy previously formed part of a Sammelband; the leaves are numbered in an early manuscript hand (226 [i.e.126], 127-135), and the second leaf has a small red-leather index tab. The collation varies from published bibliographies which have not taken into account the first blank leaf, present in this copy and conjugate with 1/10. The work is sometimes attributed to Bartolus de Saxoferrato (cf. BSB B-211). H *8589 (pt.IX, F 200-206); BMC II, 318; Goff P-1001.
