LOUIS XI (1461-1483). Two letters signed, the first to Etienne Achart, on financial matters (1456), the second to Pierre Doriole and Jehan Bourré, on the Queen of England's pension (1471); CHARLES VIII (1484-1498). An order to Jehan le Voyer (1484); LOUIS XII (1498-1515). Letters of protection for l'Hotel Dieu de Montreuil (1493); FRANCIS I (1515-1547). Letter (secretarial copy) to M. Mesuayge (ambassador to the Holy Roman Emperor), Compiegne, 22 December [1545], referring to news of the treaty signed between the Sultan and the Emperor, one page, folio (integral leaf cut away), and warrant signed for the payment of 2000 livres tournois to the Receiver General (1541); Henry II (1547-1559). Order to pay his goldsmith for a silver table (1547) and a letter signed to M. de Fourquevaulx on the death of Edward VI of England and the accession of Lady Jane Grey (1553); FRANCIS II (1559-1560). Document signed relating to a guardianship, and another (1559); CHARLES IX (1561-1574). Letters patent, a grant of 6000 livres to the family of Guillaume Doulle in Bruges (1569); HENRY III (1575-1589). Autograph letter signed to Villeroy, n.p., n.d., referring to an appointment for Curton and to 'Monsieur Bodle' (? Sir Thomas Bodley, Queen Elizabeth's envoy in 1588), and a warrant signed; HENRY IV (1589-1610). Letter signed to M. Marion wishing to recover documents relating to Picardy (1600); LOUIS XIII (1610-1643). Autograph letter signed to the Duchess of Savoy on the death of her husband (1637), and an order for payment; Louis XIV (1654-1715). Letter signed to Cardinal Bonnelli (1664); Louis XV (1715-1774). Letter signed to the Bishop of Rennes about the capture of Milan (1745), and another item; LOUIS XVI (1775-1793). Passport with secretarial signature; other documents signed by Louis XVIII and Charles X, and letters by Pope Pius II (Aeneas Sylvius Piccolomini), Cardinal Richelieu, Cardinal Mazarin, Colbert, Guizot, and one by Metternich, altogether 26 items, 4 documents on vellum, approximately 30 pages, sizes 310 x 500mm. and smaller (some fading, discolouration and scorchmarks), collection stamp of Viscount Mersey, the documents loosely inserted in an album, 420 x 270mm., vellum.
