NELSON, Horatio (Admiral, 1758-1805). Two documents signed (with the right hand, 'Horatio Nelson'), orders addressed to Lieutenant Richard Sainthill, Agent for Transports, 'Camp before Calvi', 20 June and 20 July 1794, in the first requiring him to land out of the Transports sail booms or spars to erect tents and provisions; in the second to land empty wine pipes for erecting batteries, 2 pages, oblong 8vo (175 x 200mm), (cut from larger leaves, discoloured).

The first document is dated one week after Nelson, commanding the Agamemnon, received the injury from an enemy shell which lost him the sight of his right eye. (2)
