PAGANINI, Nicolò (1782-1840). Autograph letter signed to 'amico carissimo', Paris, 9 March 1834, black ink, 1 page, 4to (244 x 187mm.), (some discoloration and minor wear).
Paganini wites to his friend introducing the Roman lawyer, Tabacchi, who, he suggests, may like one of the razors which Paganini sent his correspondent, as a token of friendship. Tabacchi has also promised to bring the recipient of this letter to Paris at the appropriate time so that Paganini can have the pleasure of seeing him in London and he wishes him a happy journey there.
The letter is apparently written just before Paganini's departure to Belgium and the Netherlands, followed by his fourth and final tour in Britain, beginning with six daily concerts in London in April 1834, as part of his contract with the English impresario, Watson. This tour marked the end of Paganini's meteoric international career.
