The naturalistic vessel with stem and six leaves, one rounded side with the natural crease found on the fruit, all under a rich, thick, opaque pale glaze, thinning at the edges to reveal the dark body beneath, the base and stem with six fine 'sesame seed' spur marks, one leaf edge chip restored

Compare a similar Yongzheng brush-washer from the Carl Kempe Collection in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, illustrated in Oriental Ceramics, Kodansha Series , vol.9, black and white illustration no.275. Another is illustrated in Qing Porcelain of Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong from the Palace Museum Collection, 1989, p.447, pl.129; and a smaller brush-washer of this form is in the Baur Collection illustrated by J. Ayers, Catalogue, col.III, no.A339.
