The medallions with Aurora's winged garland and Night's starred bonnet appear on a bed designed by Percier & Fontaine, (see C. Percier and P.F.L. Fontaine, Recueil de D/Aecorations Int/Aerieures, Paris, 1812, pl.XLV). The arabesque swan-mount also appears on a related secretaire bearing the stamp of Simon-Nicolas Mansion (d. 1854), who provided furniture for Empress Josephine's apartments and Grand Trianon in 1809
