Quinsac writes: 'This fragment of a village street ... is taken from the Monferrato, the hilly rice-producing region of Piedmont where Morbelli was born. It is possibly a pot in Coma di Rossignano, near Casal;e, where the family estate was and where Morbelli spent the summer months. The decade 1905-1915 corresponds to his most successful period ... His mastery of the divisionist technique was at its peak then'.
