The case with typical S-scroll handle to the cushion-moulded top applied with gilt-metal foliate-cast mounts, glazed sides and on gilt-metal bun feet, the 6½ in. sq. dial signed D:Quare London on the silvered chapter ring with pierced blued hands, the matted centre with ringed winding holes and punch-decorated false pendulum and calendar apertures, the spandrels interrupted by subsidiary dials (altered) for regulation, repeat/not repeat, strike/silent and pendulum fast/pendulum loose, the six ringed pillar twin fusee (chains) movement with re-built verge escapement, pull quarter repeat on four bells with hour strike on further bell, the steel-suspended pendulum now with rack regulation and later Webster-style backcock, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage and similarly signed within a wheatear-engraved cartouche; with restorations and alterations
