Of triangular form, each point with a carved stylized face with applied red pigment to eyes and nostrils, much light cross-hatched engraving on the surface generally, pierced towards one corner for suspension

We have been unable to determine from where exactly this pendant originated, although it has had much use. The shell is a type with a wide distribution in the Pacific and it is likely to have been carved somewhere between California and Peru, but Thailand should not be ruled out.
