A FINE SIOUX CALUMET STEM

Of flat, slightly flared form, a double pierced section to one end bound with predominantly white quillwork with woven red quillwork checkered designs and bands of red and blue quillwork (the blue faded on one side), the central panel bound at one end with black animal hair woven with white quillwork checkered design, remains of skin panels flanking the quilled section for attachment of feathers (missing), the shaft with five applied black paper stars embellished with blue pigment
