Sir Denis Mahon kindly confirms the traditional attribution. Nicholas Turner pointed out that there is a related drawing in the British Museum, N. Turner and C. Plazzotta, op. cit., no. 23, p. 248. No related commission is recorded but both drawings probably date from the mid 1630s, as the handling of wash is similar to the Sisyphus at Windsor, N. Turner and C. Plazzotta, op. cit., no. 108
