The Antique marble Wild Boar, now in the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, is well recorded from the mid-sixteenth century onwards, and is thought to be a copy of a Lysippic bronze; various sources believe it was originally part of a larger hunting group. Foggini, Coustou and Tacca all made celebrated copies after the Wild Boar and it is sometimes depicted with another wild animal or the hunter Meleager.
