The present picture is close in style to that in the Accademia dei Concordi, Rovigo, which also shows the Ponte Rotto in a capriccio setting (A. Rizzi, Luca Carlevarijs, 1967, p.94 and pls.73-4), and would seem to be similarly datable c.1712-14. The form
of the signature is identical to that on the 'Capriccio View of a Port', dated 1714, in a Roman private collection (ibid, p.94 and pl.71)
