The artist's notes in A.B. Grimaldi's catalogue reads: "Nineteenth enamel. From my miniature and from Lawrence's picture of the Duke on horseback in the cloak he fought in at Waterloo. Finished February 18th,1819. Plate 2.75 x 2inches, 0.16.0. Passing fire 15 times, 1. 10.0 Labour of 32 days at 0.10.0 per day, 6.0.0. In my hands W.G. 1826"
