According to Dr. Schiff, this sheet dates from circa 1814 and is one of the very few surviving drawings by Füssli of erotic subjects. After her husband's death, Mrs Füssli burnt all the obscene drawings she found in his studio. A similar drawing is in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, G.
