This fourteenth century Manor which was previously thought to be on the Isle of Wight is in Surrey, and once again it was Gertrude Jekyll who brought it to the attention of the artist. The house also appears as 'An Old Surrey House [lot no. 8] but missing the formal garden and topiary. The house can still be seen near Godalming today
