This watch was made to celebrate the first five years of Swatch and the 50 million pieces sold worldwide. It was distributed only on the Japanese market

Tadanori Yokoo, one of Japan's best known contemporary artists became noticed in the 1960s as an illustrator, designing mainly record sleeves and posters, but also doing drawings for Issey Miyake and the writer Yukio Mishima. Since 1981 he has devoted himself exclusively to painting. His watch was launched in 1987 as part of his own exhibition entitled "Swatch-inspired time themes"
