Émile Philippe was a prominent Parisian jeweller working in
the Neo-Egyptian style, which became fashionable during the building of the Suez Canal (1854-69). His work was
exhibited during the First Annual International Exhibition in
London in 1871 (see Exhibition Catalogue, vol.II, p.54)
