AN ELIZABETH I WALNUT DRAW-LEAF TABLE, the later rectangular top above a frieze carved with scrolling foliage and screaming masks, each panel centred by a smiling mask within scrolls, the ends with scrolling foliage and with leaf-carved angles, on six supports, the central two with figures emblematic of Hope and Faith set within scallop-shell niches flanked by satyrs with goblin faces, the end-supports with seated lions cogent beneath masks, each lion holding a shield carved with a coat-of-arms with the families of Shea, Hungerford and Shea quartered with several families, joined by moulded box stretchers with gadroon cappings and on later double claw-and-mask feet, the top and side mouldings of the stretchers replaced, two frieze capitals replaced, restorations, with painted inventory 501
