The first drawing is possibly connected with when the World was Young, exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1892, no. 265. A version of the painting is in the Prefectural Museum at Nagoya, Japan, and a similar drawing is reproduced in Malcolm Bell, The Drawings of Sir E.J. Poynter, Bart., P.R.A., 1905, pl. XXXVII
