Marijke de Kinkelder of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie believes the staffage to be the work of Jan Sonje. The house on the right in the present picture is repeated in a signed work by Snellinck in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Bordeaux.
