The subject depicted on this inro is a famous story of a great statesman, Sze-Ma Kwang, of Sung Period as a child. He showed remarkable intelligence and power of initiative, when his young companion fell in a large water jar trying to catch a fish, by breaking the jar to let the water out, thus saving the life of his playmate.
