Frances Abington (1737-1815) né Frances Barton, began her working life as a flower girl and street singer. Her stage debut was at the Haymarket in 1755 and her most popular role was under Garrick at Drury Lane (1764-1782). Painted by Reynolds and Zoffany she was a leader of English fashion
