The published Naval General Service Medal rolls confirm James Haley as an Ordinary Seaman aboard the Repulse for the Boat Service action of 2.5.1813, one of just 48 recipients of this clasp on the Admiralty roll.

For the attack on Morgiou Harbour, near Toulon, in which a party of Royal Marines destroyed the enemy's Battery, and men under Lieutenant Isaac Shaw brought out some laden Merchantmen, the whole being drawn from the Ship's Companies of the Redwing, Repulse, Volontaire and Undaunted.
