Sold with original Memorial Scroll to 'A.B. John William Lockwood, H.M.S. Turbulent' and Admiralty medal transmission letter (dated 28.11.1921).

Able Seaman John William Lockwood was killed in action at the Battle of Jutland on 31.5.1916, whilst serving aboard the Destroyer H.M.S. Turbulent. As part of the 10th Destroyer Flotilla, she was sunk by either gunfire or ramming, when in the confused actions during the night of 31 May/1 June, the Flotilla found itself crossing the head of the German Battle Fleet. Five Officers and 85 Ratings were killed.
