Lot Essay

Stoker 1st Class Arthur Percy Orchard was lost aboard H.M. Submarine G.8 in January 1918: 'The first Submarine loss of the year occurred when G.8 failed to return to harbour after a North Sea patrol. Captained at the time by Lieutenant John Tryon, she was lost through unknown causes some time around 14 January (Evans' Beneath the Waves refers).
