2nd Lieutenant Francis John FitzGerald appears to have first entered the French Theatre of War in May 1915, as a Private in King Edward's Horse. Subsequently transferring to the Lancashire Fusiliers, he gained advancement to Corporal, and, on being appointed to a Commission, joined the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Sergeant C.W. Burrell was Mentioned in Despatches by General Sir E. Allenby on 5.3.1919; sold with original Certificate.
