Warrant Officer Class 2 W.F. Mullins was taken P.O.W. and finished the War incarcerated in Stalag 383 at Hohenfels. Very probably he was captured at Dunkirk, where the Durhams were represented by at least four Battalions, three of them, the 6th, 8th and 9th, as part of the 50th Northumbrian Division.
