Lot Essay

Private Raymond John MacRyannis was born in April 1922 and enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in December 1941. Embarked at Sydney for operations in the South-West Pacific Area in February 1942, he was attached to the 1st Reinforcements for 1st Independent (Commando) Company, Emu Force. MacRyannis latterly served with the Australian R.E.M.E. in New Guinea.
