A PAIR OF EDWARDIAN MAHOGANY ELBOW CHAIRS
each with a moulded circular back centred by a foliate boss radiating a leaf spray through husk swags, with moulded arms and padded serpentine seat, on square tapered fluted legs, one with a back leg stamped J. Harding, and written in pencil 0250, the other with one back leg stamped C.W (2)
Provenance
34, Hertford Street, London, Plate Book (circa 1938-1944) - page 39 (Drawing Room) 'Two (Hepplewhite)/Adams wheelback chairs. The circular back was sold at a 2nd Class Sale by Air Marshall Coningham... the twin wheelback chair bought at Christie's Dec-47'
