A FRENCH CARVED WALNUT AND MARBLE MOUNTED BUFFET A DEUX CORPS, 19TH CENTURY with possible elements of an earlier date, in the Renaissance style
inset with panels of bardiglio marble within inlaid borders, the upper part with a moulded cornice centred by a frieze with sphinx relief tablet, enclosed by a pair of arched panel doors with relief carvings of Athene and Diana, flanked by projecting twin-fluted and foliate-carved columns, fitted with two drawers below, the lower part with overhanging moulded edge containing two drawers and enclosed by a pair of panelled doors similarly carved in relief with figures of Venus and Juno, flanked by fluted columns on bun feet
