A pair of French patinated and parcel-gilt bronze amphora vases, circa 1870
One with central bust entitled BACCHUS and framed by fruiting vines, the other entitled ARIADNE surrounded by fruiting foliage and above two cornucopiae, the reverse depicting scenes of vine harvesters in the classical style, the base and side handles embellished further with bacchus masks, supported on four cloven feet legs and mounted on quatrefoil bases, inscribed F.Levillain Sculpteur and stamped FERDINAND BARBEDIENNE to the bases
