A Rare Small European-Decorated Blanc-de-Chine Vase
The porcelain, Qing dynasty, late 17th century, the enamel decoration added in Europe, mid-18th century
The tapering body with a pair of molded lion-mask handels applied on either side just below the shoulder, brightly enameled in Kakiemon style with a pair of quail below a flowering prunus on one side and pots of flowers beneath a long-tailed pheasant in flight on the other side

Lot Essay
In the catalogue for the exhibition Porcelain for Palaces, it is stated that the enameling on this vase may have been added in either Holland or England during the 18th century.
