Lot Essay

Thomas Fentham is recorded 1774-1825 and at no. 52 'opposite Old Round Court' from 1778 to 1793. His trade label is recorded on mirrors throughout his working life including a convex mirror illustrated in Geoffrey Wills, English Looking-glasses, London, 1965, p.128, pl. 163 (see C. Beard and C. Gilbert, Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, F.H.S., Leeds, 1986, p.296).
