Lot Essay
The iron barque Lochinvar, 741 tons, was built for J. Boumphry & Co. of Liverpool by Stephen's of Glasgow in 1876 and was 184.9 feet long, with a 30 foot beam. Sold out of British ownership in 1894, she passed through various Scandinavian hands and was successively renamed P. Wikstrom Junior and later Axel before bing broken up in 1927.
