A William and Mary ebonised striking bracket clock, the case with foliate handle to basket top, later finials, cast gilt mask-and -foliate sound frets to the sides and on later turned brass feet, the 8in.sq. dial signed Al: Irving London on the silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with decorated calendar aperture and ringed winding holes, blued steel hands (later minute hand), winged cherub spandrels interrupting the foliate engraved border, strike/silent lever above XII latches to the seven ringed pillar twin fusee (wire lines) movement, now with anchor escapement, pull quarter repet on four bells, strike on further bell, the similarly signed backplate with profuse foliate engraving and acanthus engraved border, secured with screws into base pillars
