A NORDIC NEOLITHIC BOAT-SHAPED AXE HEAD, of black mottled stone, with convex sides and central shaft hole, the thickened butt flanked by incised line on each side, 6in. (15cm.) long; a similar axe, of brown volcanic rock, 5½in. (14cm.) long, both from Denmark; and another brown stone axe with rectangular butt and swollen sides to either side of the shaft hole, 7¼in. (18.4cm.) long, circa 3000-2500 B.C. (3)
