The plinth shaped case with cast giltmetal handle to domed top, giltmetal foliate soundfret to door with foliate escutcheons and satyr mask mount, punch numbered 454 on the cill, pierced wood soundfrets to sides and back door, the 5¼ by 6in. dial signed Tho: Tompion & Edw: Banger London within acanthus strapwork flanked by subsidiary rings for strike/silent and regulation, silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with false pendulum aperture, pierced blued hands, double screwed mask and foliate spandrels, latches to the dial feet and seven ringed pillar twin fusee movement with verge escapement and spring suspended pendulum, pull quarter repeat on Tompion's system from either side via interconnecting blued steel double-cocked levers, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage and centred by a military trophy above the similarly engraved signature within hatched border, twice punch numbered 454 to base, secured with screws through base into bottom pillars and with foliate engraved brackets to case, ivory handled key

This clock is of smaller size than the majority of Tompion's standard bracket clocks
