etching with drypoint and engraving, circa 1644, a very fine impression of this extremely rare print, the fine lines of the younger man's forehead clear and distinct, with burr to the lines behind the sleeping herdsman, printed with a delicate tone and displaying very good contrasts, trimmed to the subject, a very thin and most unobtrusive, horizontal printer's crease near the lower edge, very small repaired tears near the lower corners, a tiny tear at the upper right corner, a thin spot at the tip of the lower left corner, otherwise in good condition
