Lot Essay

Léonard Morel-Ladeuil (1820-1888), sculptor and ciseleur, was pupil and assistant to Antoine Vechte, and exhibited at the Salon from 1853. He was created a Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur in 1878, and much of his work is conserved in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris.
