Henri-Louis Cordier (1853-1926) studied both under his father, the celebrated 'ethnographic' sculptor, and under Frémiet, Gérôme and Mercié. He exhibited at the Salon from 1877, and specialised in equestrian figures and studies of animals, though he did execute some ethnographic subjects. He was awarded several medals and was made a Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur in 1903.
