A PAIR OF POTSCHAPPEL (CARL THIEME) POT-POURRI VASES, PIERCED COVERS AND STANDS, the covers modelled in high relief with two seated maidens supporting baskets of flowers on their knees, the ogee-shaped bodies similarly applied on the shoulders with seated maidens flanked by ribbon-tied flowers, painted in a muted palette and en grisaille in the style of Watteau with figures at leisure in gardens with statuary, the reverses with loose bouquets and scattered flowers, the spirally moulded stems and footed shaped-square stands applied with garlands of flowers and fruit (one finial restored, chips to flowers), blue marks and original Bruges retailer's paper labels, circa 1880
